Research
Updates
My paper, "Is there a Gender Gap in
Preschoolers' Competitiveness? An Experiment in the U.S." is
forthcoming in the Journal of
Economic Behavior and Organization. I find that children as
young as 3-5 also display gender differences in competitiveness, and
that this difference appears to be ameliorated through experience. [see paper here]. [April 15,
2013]
I have recently been interested in the
evolution of pure altruism and 'warm glow' motivations for giving among
young children. Our paper (with John List) on disentangling warm glow
and pure altruism among 4- and 5- year olds was just accepted to Economics Letters. [see paper here]. [November 15,
2012]
I have written a book chapter on the use of
visual analytics in economic decision-making. The chapter appears in
"Financial Analysis and Risk Management: Data Governance, Analytics and
Life Cycle Management," edited by Victoria Lemieux. [see
the
book
here]. [November

My paper, "An Experimental Study of Reputation
with Heterogeneous Goods" is now accepted in Decision Support Systems. This
paper experimentally investigates the role of a reputation system when
transactions are both in high and low value goods [see
paper
here]. [November

I presented our paper (with John List) on the
use of incentives and information in child food choice at the American
Public Health Association Meetings in San Francisco, CA. [see the presentation here]. [November 1,
